There is so much to love about Thailand. Overall the people in and out of tourist areas are welcoming and the slower pace of life is perfect for a vacation. Part of the time I was there I opted for a tour guide and that turned out to be some of the best money I spent on my trip. If you do not know Thai having a translator is priceless. There are many locations in Thailand that will leave you in awe, absolute awe. You can look at all the pictures on the internet but seeing the grander of the Wats (Temples) in person. Most of all I felt fairly safe as I made my way around Bangkok and Phukett. Even through all of the airports everyone was just carrying on about their business of traveling. I did notice that the Thai people are generally hard working and go out of their way to help you on your way but when things got tough I to smile and calmly explain or leave when appropriate.
